BREEDING POLICIES:
• We do not offer boarding of your female. We have a closed grounds status policy and
do not allow outside dogs to come into contact with our dogs.
This means you must be prepared to bring your female each time a breeding (insemination)
or testing needs to be done.
• We prefer to test in the morning and inseminate in the evening
We can be flexible within reason, but once your female tests positive for ovulation precursers
you MUST be able to bring her for breeding.
• We have a success record of 98% so far with our artificial insemination program.
• We will not breed your female if this is her first heat.
• We will not breed your female if she is older than 6 years of age.
• We will not breed your female if it is apparent you do not have the dedication
or common sense to care for your female and puppies.

STUD CONTRACT
2011 / 2012

This Contract is entered into between: ___________________________________, Owner(s) of
_____________________________ ("Bitch"); and Umpqua Valley Kennels LLC, ( shall further
be known as “UVK”) owner of ____________________________, ("Stud Dog"), upon the following terms and conditions:
1. UVK certifies that the following information applies to the above Stud Dog:

2. Stud Dog owners agree to furnish Bitch Owner with the following prior to insemination of semen:
a. Copy of dog’s registration papers and Pedigree.
3. Bitch Owners agree to furnish UVK with the following prior to insemination of semen:
a. Copy of dog’s registration papers and Pedigree.
b. A Veterinarians statement that said bitch is in good health and has no aparent concerns regarding
pregnancy or whelping.
3. Bitch Owner shall notify UVK as soon as it is evident Bitch is coming into season.
4. UVK agrees to furnish Bitch Owner two (2) collections of semen from above Stud Dog.
Collections will be made approximately 48 hours apart.
5. Bitch Owner will be responsible for all transportation charges and travel arrangements to bring thier bitch for testing/insemination or to pick up the semen.
6. Bitch Owner acknowledges that timing is crucial when breeding via artificial insemination ( A.I.).
If choosing semen only:
Bitch Owner will obtain necessary testing on bitch (blood progesterone levels recommended)
to determine optimum breeding time, and will notify UVK as soon as possible as to when to have the semen ready.
If choosing the testing and semen option:
Bitch owner will follow our advised schedule of testing and it will be done here onsite.
This testing is by blood draw to test progesterone levels and takes approx 1 hour or less.
Vaginal smears ( cytology ) will also be done to determine approximate end of ovulation.
7. In the event that no pregnancy results, or there are not at least 2 puppies surviving past the first
fourteen days of life, the following applies:
A. UVK will offer a free repeat breeding to the same stud dog. This repeat breeding must take place
within twelve (12) months of the original breeding. If Bitch Owner does not exercise this option
within the time limit specified, the option is void and the stud fee is forfeited.
B. Should the same stud dog not be available for breeding, UVK will offer a free breeding to another
stud dog of comparable quality, to be mutually agreed on by UVK and Bitch Owner.
If Bitch Owner desires to breed to a stud dog or (request testing services) for which the fee is higher than the one the bitch was
originally bred to, Owner may do so by paying the difference between the two fees.
C. Bitch Owner may also request that the repeat breeding be done with a bitch other than the one listed
in this contract, subject to approval of the substitute Bitch by UVK.
D. Bitch owner will be responsible for transportation and travel accomodations for repeat breedings, under the same
terms as the original breeding.
8. The fee for this breeding will be:
The sum of: __ $500.00 (semen only) / __ $600.00 (semen~insemination) __ $1000.00 (testing~semen~insemination),
payable as follows:
A. A $100.00 booking fee is required in order to guarantee service when the Bitch is ready to breed.
This amount will be deducted from the total stud fee owed and is non-refundable.
B. The balance of the stud fee is to be paid to UVK by Pay Pal, direct deposit, or certified bank draft
before reciept of the semen. If UVK cannot supply the sperm as requested,
UVK will promptly return stud fee, less booking fee, to Bitch Owner.
9. Bitch Owner agrees to notify UVK within three days after the litter is whelped.
Bitch Owner agrees to furnish UVK with photos of the litter. Bitch Owner also agrees that UVK
has the right to use said pictures on UVK’s website for promotional purposes.
10. All parties agree to cooperate by promptly completing and/or signing any paperwork relative to
this litter in its entirety or individuals from this litter.
11. The parties hereto agree that this document is a legal and binding contract,
fully enforceable under the laws of the county of Douglas, State of Oregon.
Any additions, deletions, or changes to this Contract must be initialed by all parties in order to be valid.
